Privacy policy
This policy explains what Yardsign collects when you use yardsignsites.com and how we handle the information supporters enter on campaign sites we host.
Campaign customers
When you use Yardsign, we collect:
- Your email address, which is how you sign in.
- The content of your sites, including text, photos and committee details.
- Billing details. Stripe processes payments; we receive your billing name, email and the status of your subscription, but never your full card number.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and the actions you take in the app, used to run and secure the service.
- Messages you send to our support address.
We use this to provide and secure the service, bill you, send you service email (sign-in codes, sign-up alerts, receipts and important notices), and answer your questions. We don't send marketing email without your permission.
People who sign up on campaign sites
When you sign up on a campaign's site, you give your information to that campaign. We store and process it on the campaign's behalf, and the campaign's own privacy policy, linked from its form, says how it uses it. We encrypt sign-ups with a key for that site alone, show them only to that campaign's account, and never sell them, use them for our own purposes or share them with other campaigns.
Visitors
Campaign sites don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Yardsign's own pages set one cookie, and only after you sign in, to keep you signed in. Like every website, our host processes visitors' IP addresses and browser details to deliver pages and stop abuse.
Who we share information with
- Cloudflare, which hosts the service and sends our email.
- Stripe, which processes payments.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect people or our service from harm.
We don't sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. When a site is deleted or has been offline for 90 days, we delete its content and sign-ups. Security logs are kept for a limited time. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypt supporter sign-ups at rest with per-site keys, sign customers in with one-time codes, and limit who can reach production data.
Your choices
You can see and change your content in your dashboard, download your sign-ups and site, and delete your sites. To ask us to delete your account or for a copy of your information, email support@yardsignsites.com. If you signed up on a campaign's site, contact that campaign first; we'll help it respond to your request.
Children
Yardsign isn't for people under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and email customers about material ones.
